Who I am in Christ: Child of God

When your identity changes, the way you live should change. In other words, your way of life ought to be rooted in who you are, your identity.

In Christ, you have become a child of God

Galatians 4:1-7

Romans 8:14-17

Ephesians 1:3-5

What does it mean to be a child of God?

Co-heir with Christ, that means brother or sister to Jesus (Galatians 4:6-7)

Under God’s protection and the evil cannot assail/separate you from Christ (1John 5:18)

Seated with Jesus in the heavenly places (Ephesians 2:4-6)

We have access to God (Romans 5:2, Ephesians 2:18, 3:12)

As a child, you have God’s authority (John 1:12)

Collin’s Testimony

The point of childhood is to become mature.

Child-relationally: never changes

Child-in-terms-of-maturity: this should change over time, childish vs child-like

Ephesians 4:11-14

Hebrews 5:11-6:1

Colossians 1:28
